A blending of styles

X-Large South Union Ladderback Side Chair

The South Union ladderback (or "slat back") side chair was the first Shaker chair we made in 1974. The finial was one we spotted in a photo of a child's high chair and we loved its dimension, similar to the Mt.Lebanon chair finial, and we like the subtle curve that doesn't quite reach a point. The shape is simple and blends nicely with other furniture styles and interiors. The seat size on the X-Large version is the same size seat found on our arm chairs .
