The Shakers made tables that were simple in design and most often for a specific place and purpose. Table legs were most often round or square tapered. More ornate turned legs may be found on a few, rare tables but such embellishments were not the rule.
Tables were made from woods available to where the communities were located. Maple, cherry, and pine were common to the northern communities. Tables were frequently painted or a simple clear coat of oil or shellac may be found on some original pieces.
Our gallery of Shaker tables exemplifies our commitment to the Shaker doctrine of form and function. All our tables are made to fit the needs of our customers and fit perfectly in their homes.
